Eight Below: A Dog's Life

Dogs are loving, playful, jolly, and are happy beside their master. You can seea dog’s feelings by wagging their tail and shows affection by licking your face or your hand. In the movie, Eight Below is a very touching story that shows leadership and love to one another—both dogs and their master. The movie started when Paul Walker is a guide at an Antarctica research base. Paul, Harrison, andMcClarenare going to Mount Melbourne to find a rare meteorite from the planet Mercury and the only way to go there is by using a dog sled. Due to the storm, too much weight in the plane can’t carry both people and dogs so they decided to return for the dogs later. The storm is worse than expected and soon knew that there will be no rescue for the dogs until the next spring.

After a few days when they left the dogs, the dogs break free of their chains then immediately set off their journey to find food but, one dog named Old Jack can’t come because he’s too oldand weak to break the chains then, eventually dies. One night, one of the dogs named Dewey, falls to a slope then eventually dies because of his fatal injury. Max, one of the dogs stays with Dewey a little while longer then went to find his friends. On his way back he saw a dead animal and ate it, until he was attacked by a seal. The other dogs was able to find Max, Max tried to distract the seal so that the rest can eat the dead animal but, the seal predicted what’s happeningthen bites Maya (the leader of the dogs) on the leg but manages to survive then, the other dogs chase the seal furiously. The part that touches my heart is where the dogs hunt’s foods for Maya but refuses and gave it to Max. This means that she’s passing her leadership to Max, who has shown bravery, leadership, and compassion.The dogs find their way to the camp, where Paul and his rescue team and return home with the six dogs.

I love mydogs because whenever I arrived home from school they’ll meet you at the gate immediately. I love the way they wag their tails because it showed them how happy they are to see their master. I don’t want my dog to treat me as their master, I want them to treat me as a friend.I really like dogs and I’vedreamed of having a siberian husky because they look so attractive.Dogs are man’s bestfriend, we must treat them love and care just like the way dogs or any animal treated us. “Dogs have been known to die to save their masters. A dog might even die of misery after his master is dead. They are certainly a true and faithful friend. It is right to call him man’s best friend.”

~ The chophouse started in the USA in the late 19^th century as a development of traditional inns andbars. We ate at trinoma branch. I ordered U.S. beef minute steaks, 7oz and my side dish is French fries.

CRISOSTOMO

The Crisostomo restaurant is a Filipino Cuisine. We ate at Resorts World, Pasay City. The general theme is the turn of the century, Spanish period. I like the frames that hang on the wall and the sorbetes outside the restaurant. I ordered bracken tofu, bagumbayanlechon and sisig.J By the way, the restroom there is a little bit creepy. :o

LEGEND OF INDIA

Obviously, It’s a Indian restaurant. I learned to eat Indian food because of my tita’s Indian husband. Most of the Indian foods are spicy and I like spicy foods. J I ordered samosa and chicken tandoori. They also serve free snacks while waiting for the food J

RELISH AT PONTE

The Relish at ponte is a continental Mediterranean restaurant. We tried it because my tita’s friend told us that the food their was good.What she said was true. I like the food and the restaurant was nice inside and out. I ordered relish bistro steak and relish roasted chicken.

LUTONG MACAU

Lutongmacau is a Chinese restaurant. We always eat here because we like the yang chow rice and the siomai here.These restaurant is also near in our apartment, It’s a walking distance. I ordered beef tenderloin in Chinese style and sweet and sour pork.

Cell phone

 Cell phone is the most used technology today. Almost all of us now have a cell phone, even our grandparents. I remember when I was a kid, my father’s cell phone was the Nokia 3310, it is black and white, thick, and without camera. I remembered it because I always borrowed it from him, just to play Snake and Space Impact. The cell phones now days are very different compared to the past years, it’s because of the growing technology. Cell phones are already colored, touch screen, thinner, lighter, with camera and can connect to the wife.

We all know that things and gadgets are created for us to benefit from it and make our life easier, but there are disadvantages too. Cell phone is very useful to me. I am able to communicate to my family and friends through texting and phone calls, and I can contact them in case of emergency. I can play music for entertainment, watch videos if I want, capture the memorable moments in my life together with my family and friends for remembrance, and play games when I am bored. I can also connect to the wife to be able to surf the internet for me to be updated in the latest news, discover new things that I don’t know yet and allows me to log-in in my favorite social networking sites like Face book and Twitter.

There are disadvantages and bad effects of using a cell phone. The radiation of the cell phone that can have an effect on my body and brain. Sometimes, I don’t have enough time to talk, tell stories, experiences, opinions, thoughts, and feelings to my family and friends because of texting. It also became a distraction for me when I am doing my homework and projects and when I’m studying for a quiz or exam. When waking up in the morning, the first thing that I will do is check my cell phone before praying, which is really bad? And when sleeping at night my cell phone is beside me. For some, they don’t respect the foods during meal time because they can’t set aside their phones; they still use it while eating. In class, some students don’t listen to their teachers/professors because of using their cell phones.

 I will do all my best to change my attitude in using my cell phone. I want to spend a quality time with my family and friends. I will lessen the time of using my cell phone and leave it in one place when I’m doing a homework or project and while studying, so that I will not be tempted to use it.

Same Sex Marriage

- is the marriage of  two people of the same sex, biological identity and/or gender identity who live together as a family.

Benefits:

Disadvantage:

They are saying that gays and lesbians make poor parents. Also children must be raised by their biological parents. Sometimes a child with same-sex parents will be subjected to hate. Homosexual activity is a capital offense in the Bible.

Marriage is for man and woman only. Personally, I don’t mind people being part of the LGBT community but to unite a homosexual couple under God, it’s just not right. God created that sacrament for a reason: to recognize the unity of a man and a woman to have legitimate children. We ruin the sacredness of this sacrament because of the man-man, woman-woman marriage. I’m not all that religious, but there is no reason why we should legalize this kind of marriage

Avril Lavigne

My favourite singer is Avril Lavigne. I liked her songs since I was in grade five. I think she is pretty, talented and has a really good voice. I like many singers too like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Hayley Williams, Cher Lloyd and more but  Avril is really my top one favourite singer. 
The first song from her that I listened to is “I’m with you” that’s when I first  heard her voice and I really loved that song from her so I searched more of her songs and I when I listened to it I also liked her other songs, that’s when I started to adore her. I download almost all of her songs in my gadgets but of course some of her songs I just like but I have a favourite song from her its titled “Smile” the song came out on the year 2010 or 2011 I think  her song even came out on top one on song charts and MTV or V channel, I was happy that it came in top one of course because I like her songs and that one was my favourite as I’ve said. I have all her songs in her albums like Goodbye Lullaby, The Best Damn Thing, Under My Skin, My World and Let Go. Avril also had her own perfume brand well I really wanted to buy those but it cost too much so I didn’t bought one cause it costs like 5000 to 8000 and I have to0 be practical and just be contented with her songs instead. 
You can say I’m one of Avril’s fans well yes I am but I’m not her number one fan. Like I said I just really like her songs but I know there are more Avril adoring fans out there more than me but you can still say I’m one of her biggest fan. I think even when I grow older I will still like and adore her songs and of course her. I hope even when she grow older she will still make new songs. Like her new song this year “Here’s to Never Growing Up” and likewise I think she is really pretty in her music video and as usual I like her song and especially her voice.

My Indulgence: Food

Many people have their own indulgence in life, for me its food. A person like me to enjoy the world of food is a privilege. I like to explore the delicate taste of every food that I eat. The first indulgence in my life is desserts because I have a “sweet tooth”. My life isn’t complete without it and it completes the flavor of my taste buds. That’s why every time I go home from school I can’t resist to pass by to Dairy Queen. I want to satisfy my craving that’s why. Dairy Queen is a thumb up for me. I feel happy every time I eat their ice cream. Their ice cream is really great and its quality is really good. They have many flavors to choose from that you can really enjoy. There’s a dessert that I ate before that taste really amazing, it’s a crème brulee. A crème brulee is made of rich custard topped with caramelized sugar. Its looks like a simple flan but when you taste it, the flavors of it will explode in your tongue that you’ll eat over and over again. That’s the reason I love desserts it just surprise you.

Doughnuts are one of my favorite foods I like to eat. A type of donut I like to eat is one with a surprise center. Once you bite it you will taste the awesome flavors that you expected.  J.co is one of the well known shops here in the Philippines that sell quality donuts. My first experience with J.co is really awesome and their donuts have this balance of sweetness that is not over powering.

Next on my list is Italian cuisine, I am an enthusiast of it. I feel the essence of Italy when I’m eating it. My favorite Italian food is pizza. Who doesn’t love pizza? Everyone does. When I eat pizza, I have this delightful feeling. It makes my stomach happy and satisfied. The pizza parlor that I had tasted a great pizza is Yellow cab. Their pizza is really amazing, it fills my Italian cravings. The other Italian food that I like is Carbonara. I like Carbonara because I love to taste the creaminess of it and the great flavors of the dish. I think the key of a great Carbonara, is a rich sauce. I remember when I taste my first Carbonara in a fine restaurant, feels like heaven on earth.

All this foods are really fun to eat and enjoy, but sometimes too much of this can cause bad effects to our bodies. Let’s take this food occasionally and let’s live a healthy life. Because what we eat is who we are.

Life of Michael “Air” Jordan

Who is Michael Jordan? Michael Jordan is a former American basketball player who led the Bulls to six national championships and earned the NBA Most Valuable Player Award five times. He is also known as the best Basketball player who ever lived.    

           Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born on February 17, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York. Michael Jordan finished his studies in University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Jordan left college after his junior year to join the NBA. Drafted by the Chicago Bulls, he helped the team make it to the playoffs. For his efforts there, Jordan received the NBA Rookie of the Year Award. With five regular-season MVPs and three All-Star MVPs, Jordan became the most decorated player in the NBA.  

In 1985, he finished his bachelor's degree in geography and continued to play basketball professionally. While his second season was marred by injury, Jordan was breaking new ground on the court during the 1986-1987 season. He became the first player since Wilt Chamberlain to score more than 3,000 points in a single season. The following season, Jordan received his first Most Valuable Player Award from NBA and it was an honor he would earn four more times in 1991, 1992, 1996, and 1998.

By the late 1980s, the Chicago Bulls was quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with, and Jordan was an instrumental part of the team's success. The Bulls made it to the Eastern Conference Finals in 1990 and won their first NBA championship the following year by defeating the Los Angeles Lakers. A rising NBA superstar, Jordan became known for his power and agility on the court as well as for his leadership abilities. He eventually landed several endorsement deals with such companies as Nike, which further pushed him into the spotlight.

In 1992, the Chicago Bulls beat the Portland Trail Blazers to win their second NBA championship title. The team took their third championship the following year, dominating in the basketball world. Jordan, however, had other things on his mind. He lost his father, James, to an act of violence after the end of the 1992-1993  season. Two teenagers shot James Jordan during an apparent robbery and were later convicted of the crime. In a move that shocked many, Michael Jordan decided to retire from basketball to pursue baseball. He played for a minor league team, the Birmingham Barons, as an outfielder for a year.

In March 1995, however, Jordan returned to the basketball court. He rejoined the Chicago Bulls and eventually helped them win the championship against the Seattle Sonics in the 1995-1996 season. The following season Jordan came back even stronger, averaging 30 points per game. Starting all 82 games that season, he helped the team finish the regular season with 72 wins and clinch a win in the NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz. The two teams faced each other again for the championships in 1998, and Jordan helped the Bulls beat them for the second year in a row.

Retiring after the 1997-1998 season, Jordan did not stray from the sport for too long. He joined the Washington Wizards as a part owner and as president of basketball operations. In the fall of 2001, Jordan relinquished these roles to return the court once more. He played for the Wizards for two seasons before hanging up his jersey for good in 2003.

In 2006, Jordan bought a share of the Charlotte Bobcats and joined the team's executive ranks as its managing member of basketball operations. He experienced some personal changes that same year, ending his 17-year marriage to wife Juanita Vanoy. The couple divorced in December 2006. They had three children together during the course of their marriage: Jeffrey, Marcus and Jasmine.

The following year, Michael Jordan made news—this time as the father of an up-and-coming college basketball player. His eldest son, Jeffrey Jordan, made the team at the University of Illinois. Both Michael Jordan and his ex-wife Juanita have supported their son and tried to help him deal with playing in the shadow of a NBA legend. "He wants to be a basketball player, but he wants to do it on his own terms ...The thing that we have tried to tell Jeff is that you set your own expectations. By no means in this world can you ever live up someone else's expectations of who you are," Michael Jordan said during an appearance on the Today show.

In April 2009, Jordan received one of basketball's greatest honors: He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Jordan remains active in his sport. He became the majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats in 2010 and serves as the team's chairman. And improving the team's less-than-stellar record seems to be Jordan's number one priority these days. He told ESPN in November 2012 that "I don't anticipate getting out of this business. My competitive nature is I want to succeed. It's always been said that when I can't find a way to do anything, I will find a way to do it."

Yellow Cab after the Mass

Every Sundaymy sister and I always insinuate that we wanted to eat at yellow cab after going to church. We would always say something like “Papa gusto naminngdilawna baby bear/lion” or have a conversation like when my sister is wearing a yellow shirt she will ask what the color of her shirt is then ask what a baby bear or lion is called to our dad until he gets our point. Sometimes when he can’t take our pestering anymore, he will tell us to ask our mom to make us stop, but eventually they will agree to eat at yellow cab. We would drive to Imus where there is the nearest Yellow Cab. We would always order a Manhattan Meatlovers Pizza, Charlie Chan Chicken Pasta, Twice Baked Potato Halves and Hot Wings. After ordering our parents will go to our table. My Papa would always joke on whom will pay or whose allowance the bill will be deducted. Then my sister and I would point at each other. Then our order will come and we will all eat. Sometimes, I and my sister would scramble at the chicken if there are some left. I was always the last one to finish. After eating we just sit there for a while, we just talk about what has happen the past days and other stuff. It’s like our little family Sunday bonding time. Where we forget about everything else and just think about each other. That’s why I love to insist that we eat outside after the mass.

In my opinion, there are three shapes of people: skinny, not-so-skinny but not-so-fat (sexy) and fat! Nowadays, we often see up-sized people everywhere and admit it, up-sized people are having hard time finding the right size for an outfit. It doesn't mean that you have a "plus size" body you can't be fashionable. Okay, I'm going to give 10 tips on what to wear for up-sized girls: 

1.         Find the right size for your undergarments. It's hard to look good when you're wearing flimsy underwear! Choose the perfect underwear. 

2.         You should know what to hide on your body. Always remember: wearing dark colors hide, while wearing light colors highlight, small patterns can make you look smaller, while big patterns will make you look bigger, never put ruffles on anything you want to make smaller, instead put them on the areas you want to emphasize and choose the right color to compliment your skin. 

3.         Think vertical! Seams, stripes piping or a deep v-neck, but not horizontal 

4.         Elongate the neck and make the torso appear longer by showing your collarbone so wear a v-neck or deep scoop t-shirts 

5.         Wear high heels! High heels give you thinner profile and avoid ankle strap sandals the more you show the top of your foot and leg, the longer your leg line will appear.  

6.         You should slip on the right length skirt and stick to just-above-the-knee skirts that play off knees and elongate legs. You should avoid a mid calf skirt which draws attention to the widest part of the legs, making them look heavier. 

7.         If you're wearing skinny jeans or leggings, try a tunic-style top that's a bit flowing. Wearing a top that's not fitting is fine as long as your bottom half looks tailored and well-fitted. 

8.         A big handbag bag can help make you look smaller, as it does not look tiny next to you. 

9.         Good boots, such as "equestrian-style" boots can cause the illusion of a slender calf. A good pair of boots makes wearing a skirts or pants a positive joy.

He’s Still Dead but He’s Getting Warmer

I just recently saw the film “Warm Bodies” and I must say it is a good film. The film’s genre is a paranormal romantic zombie comedy film. The film is set somewhere in the future after a zombie apocalypse wherein people strive to survive. Don’t get me wrong, it is not a horror film, but rather a different type of romantic comedy film. The story of the film revolves around R, a highly unusual zombie, who wants to do something more in his life, and become more than what he is. During their hunt for food, R bumps into some human survivors and he, along with the other zombies, feast on them. As soon as R laid eyes on Julie, one of the human survivors and the daughter of Colonel Grigio; Leader of the Survivors, he quickly falls for her. Which is I know, sort of unusual because he is after all a zombie. R then saves Julie and takes her to the airport, where all the zombies live, and to the plane where he lives. During their days together, the two were able to bond and Julie sees that R is different from the others. R’s heart soon slowly starts beating again as he spent his days with Julie. He started to become more human. As the two started an escape plan to take Julie back to the other humans, they were blocked by corpse, who were nastier than zombies, but was able to escape. As soon as they got to the garage, they were blocked again but this time by the zombies but as soon as the zombies saw Julie holding R’s hand, they started to feel something.  When Julie and R stayed the night at one of the abandoned suburban houses, R confesses to Julie that he was the one who killed her boyfriend Perry, and upon knowing that Julie was disappointed. The next day R found out that Julie had left him. Back in camp with the other humans, Julie tells Nora (Julie’s friend) the story of R and how she sort of misses him since she left him. Julie was shocked when he saw R outside of their home; she let him in and introduced him to Nora. When her father found out about this, he was furious and planned to kill all the zombies immediately. During their battle the humans found out that the corpse where the enemy not the zombies. They teamed up and R was able to save Julie from a corpse attack. Julie kisses R and his eyes turned blue. When Julie’s father saw R and her together he shoots R but was surprised to see R bleeding, he was human again. After that the corpses were killed and the zombies and humans lived together once more, the end. I liked the movie because it teaches us that there is still hope, even in our darkest time, we can still find a even single heartbeat that can make all the difference.

I started playing dota 2 when I was 4^th year high school and dota 2 is a blend of RTS, MOBA and RPG action that has made dota popular with a millions of gamers and expand upon it in every day. And dota 2 Is all about strategies and outplaying your enemy like chess. And usually my favourite heroes are Queen of Pain, Nature’s Prohpet and Shadow fiend. Each match tends to last somewhere between 30 minutes and an hour, offering vast amounts of entertainment if you’ve got the time. Lengthy games can cause frustration when things aren’t going well, Losing isn’t frustrating if you’re learning something new, and getting to know every character will take roughly 100 hours. Gold buys you items and XP levels characters up and this month the biggest Esport tournament has been held “The International 3” with $1.4m and the winners is Alliance

Each Hero has a set of abilities, usually four in total, and can increase their effectiveness by gaining experience and leveling up. Experience can be gained by killing a multitude of things around the map: little AI enemy units called Creeps, bigger neutral AI units in various spots, or enemy Heroes. Each ability, with the exception of the fourth, can be leveled up four times in any order the player so chooses. And Dota 2 has107 heroes, there are 3 types of heroes are there are Strength, Agility and Intelligence. And as I play dota 2 it helps me to think quickly or analyze the scenario or the team fight. And also improve your reaction through map awareness and It dota 2 helps you to use the universal language like English because in dota 2 is whole world MOBA and RPG action. And as you play dota 2 you will have new friends like Asians, Chinese and Etc.

My Summer with Korean Dramas.

My blog is about the Korean dramas I’ve watched during my summer vacation. Since I’m in love with Korean dramas, I chose it as my topic for my blog. I don’t have enough time to watch Korean Dramas now because of my schedule. Before the classes start, I watched To the beautiful you, When a man loves and Absolute Boyfriend, a Taiwanese Drama.

To the beautiful you is a remake of Taiwan’s Hana Kimi, Japan’s Hana Yori Dango and a Manga. It is about a Girl who disguise into a boy to follow the man of her dreams in an all-boys school. She did everything to serve her crush and to be close to him. In the end, they become lovers.  It is too long if I am going to tell the story. But for me, it is a good drama. To do anything for the one you love.

When a man loves is about Han Tae-Sung, a thug and a loan shark who falls in love for the first time and Seo Mi-do, a hardworking young woman who comes from a poor family and the love interest of Han Tae-Sung. Seo Mi-do’s Father borrowed money to Han Tae-sung for their Bookstore and when the loan shark is asking for the money, Mido’s Father doesn’t have enough money to pay the loan shark. As a replace for the loan, Mido give herself to Tae sung but he rejects it because he respects Mido for her bravery and kindness. Tae sung pay for Mido’s Education but she use it for the medication of her father. After a year, they meet again at a restaurant where Mido works as a waitress. Tae sung hire Mido as his Assistant in their business and this is the start of their closeness. Mido accepts Tae sung’s love for her but she really doesn’t like Tae Sung. He really did everything for her but this still doesn’t work. But at the End, they still love each other.  This drama explains that if you really love someone, whatever may happen, you will still love her or him.

Absolute Boyfriend is about a girl who’s seeking for a love life and a Robot who falls in love to the girl. I’m not impressed about the story but I like it because of how they fight for their love on each other. Well, I really don’t believe in the Human-Robot love. Actually, it is really not true. I enjoy the drama, thinking that Night the Robot is a real human. I like Jiro Wang and Koo Hye Sun’s Chemistry.

I started loving the Korean Drama after I watched the Dream High 1 and then I started to like K-Pop songs. Some people ask me why I like Korea, yet I don’t understand what they’re saying. Simple answer, it is because it makes me happy. I want to go to Korea someday and have a Korean Friends.

HACHIKO: A MAN’S BEST FRIEND

A few days ago, I watched a movie titled “Hachiko: a Dog’s Tale” and it is one of the best movies I have ever watched that made me cry a bucket of tears. I have watched a lot of tear dropping movies before but this one deserves recognition. The way the movie showed the dog’s emotions is fascinating and it makes the movie worth remembering. This movie proved the quote “Dog is a man’s best friend.” Honestly, I don’t really like having a pet dog but because of this heartfelt movie I wanted to have one. I also want to experience the special connection between dogs to its owner like Hachiko to his Master named Parker Wilson.   

The story begins when Parker Wilson saw an abandoned Akita dog in a train station in Japan. He picked up this fluffy and bubbly dog and brought it home for a night, and then he planned to send this dog to the pound the next day or to give it to its rightful owner. Parker’s wife does not like his plan but later agreed that the dog will be there for a night. This one night turned into weeks, months, and years. Every day the dog would always go with his master to the train station, then walk home, and then return to welcome his master. This has been his daily routine for couple of years. Until one day, Parker suffered a heart attack while he is in work and died in the hospital. Since Hachiko’s routine is to wait for his master to come home, he waited for a long period of time. Hachiko kept on waiting for his master for more than nine years until his last breath. He became loyal to Parker that he never gave up on waiting for his master’s comeback. Hachiko’s unfailing loyalty to his master made me emotional. It never occurred to me that there is a very loyal dog like Hachiko, until I watched this American adaptation of Hachiko’s life story.

Each of us can express our own loyalty to our best friend or master. But Hachiko’s loyalty to his master gave me an impact in my life. We should be as loyal as Hachiko if possible. I do not think that I will forget this movie. It left an indelible mark in my mind. This is a must-see movie, and I suggest that people would watch this extraordinary film to understand the real meaning of eternal friendship and loyalty.
